An EPIC ‘420 Easter Special’ Plus Other Mind Altering Events

Hey Fiends,

So, did you catch our ‘Post 420 Easter Special’ last night. It was an extreme mind altering event. Some people thought it wasn’t even the Rock Solid Pressure Show they were listening to (lol). Yes, it was out there. It was crazed stoner bliss! Normally, for the 420 Holiday, we exhume about 10 or 15 well known tracks that appeal to all types of stoners. But it’s EPIC APRIL, so we had to search for 4 or 5 lengthy tracks for the head. Did we succeed? HELL YES!! What unfolded last night was something we never attempted before. We could actually hear the bongs bubbling across the airwaves. It was the perfect mix of Stoner Rock and Post Psychedelia. It sounded dated but most of the tracks were new, or fairly new. We opened with a stoner classic from the 70’s though to set the mood for and epic journey. Yes, we’re known for Hard Rock and Metal, but we really enjoy spilling out the mind altering gems every year for 420. PLUS, it was ‘420 Easter’..That ‘never’ happened before. It was like an eclipse or something. We went far beyond anything we have attempted before. We have also never played any of these tracks before.. It went down like this..

SCORPIONS: Lonesome Crow (Brain Records) Does anybody remember the first Scorpions album from 1972? It was total psychedelia. Actually, their first 3 albums were in this vein. But the 13min title track is more like a mind altering event..We just had to do it to set the mood

MONSTER MAGNET: The Last Patrol (Napalm Records) This is also the title track from the stoner legends last album. Almost everything is stoner bliss from Monster Magnet, and they’re no strangers to our annual 420 playlist. But this 10min epic of joyous noise really did the trick

MASTODON: The Last Baron (Reprise) This track was from 2009, but it sounded like something from the 70’s. It’s a 13min epic that drips with stoner madness

LUDER: Dirge (Small Stone Records) This 10min stoner epic is also new. We’ve spun ‘half’ of this track before. It also charted on our ‘best of 2013’ special. We decided to spin the entire track so you got the maximum impact of where the song goes..Where did it go? It landed somewhere in the frontal lobe

BIGELF: I.T.M. (Inside Out Music) Yes, we’ve been spinning a ton of the new ‘BigElf’ album. It’s so out there, we can hardly describe what it is. One thing for sure..A lot of it IS stoner music. And the 10min closing track is nothing short of a hazey journey into the farthest reaches of the mind

*NEWS: All kinds of cool stuff is going down in the ‘Rock Solid Pressure’ orbit. We’re gearing up for some massive concert events which are coming down the pike in a couple weeks. ALSO, we can announce a PART TWO for BANDS AND FANS UNITED which will be at THE COLISEUM in Bradenton on May 31st. The first one was a successful networking event for Florida bands and fans. Part Two will also be a networking conference with guest speakers, and massive band bonding, but we’re doing something outrageous¬† this time around. I’m not letting the cat out of the bag just yet..All I can say right now is..Musicians, bring your instruments!! Also just announced is BOBAFLEX which will be destroying The Coliseum on May 23rd. Make sure you get your tix from any of the opening bands As you know, we have an extremely hectic concert schedule. The past couple weeks we have had somewhat of a break, but we jump back into the fire next week, we have POWERMAN 5000. ADRENALINE MOB, DICK DALE all in one week, and that’s not counting the local shows. So we’re gearing up for a busy time in the field..ALSO, a new edition of ROCK SOLID PRESSURE TV just landed. It’s over at our site, check it out

Sat April 26th: The Coliseum: THE LUVDOGZ w/ THE DEFIANT, VIRGIN DIRT: We are sooo looking forward to this show. Been anticipating it for months. Our good friends in Luvdogz and The Defiant (and our new friends in Virgin Dirt) are gonna lay down a show so powerful and stimulating, you’d be crazy not to miss this event. We’re anticipating a huge party crowd. It’s our only event this week, so lets make it COUNT!! Get on the event page NOW

That’s all I got, cya Saturday

Hey Fiends,

We ushered in EPIC APRIL last night in an EPIC way..We featured an exclusive interview with Guitar Legend CRAIG GOLDY (Dio Disciples, Dio, Giuffria, David Lee Roth, etc) We caught up with Craig at the DIO DISCIPLES concert last week. The concert was an amazing heartfelt memorial to Ronnie. It’s rare when you see a show that is so emotional, that most of the crowd has tears streaming down their face. But it happened and we were so glad to be the one’s that brought this amazing show to State Theatre. It was historic!! The all-star band let loose with tons of great songs from Ronnie’s immense catalog of music, and the connection between the performers and the crowd was unlike anything I have seen in a long time. We bonded instantly with Craig early in the day. We knew the interview was going to be emotional. I can’t even remember the last time I had tears in MY eyes during an interview. But hearing of the bond, and the history of Ronnie and Craig, and hearing about the effect on Craig when he heard about Ronnie’s death, was almost too much to handle. The two were right in the middle of recording a new album when Ronnie passed. This interview will stand as one of our all time favorites and will live in the Hallowed Halls forever. Yes, you will hear it on our ‘Best Of’ show in the future.

EPIC APRIL: All month long we’ll be spinning ‘epic’ masterworks of Hard Rock and Metal. Huge tracks that clock in at 10 minutes or more. Some are brand new, and some are classics that you know and love. We rarely get a chance to spin these complete tracks, but all month long we’re serving ’em up. Some broadcasts will be ‘just’ epics, and others we’ll mix in an epic or two with our regular playlist..

DARK EMPIRE: From Refuge To Ruin (Nightmare Records) debut

BLACK SABBATH: The Sign Of The Southern Cross (Warner Bros)

DIO: Dream Evil (Warner Bros)

SUNSHINE & BULLETS: Untold Stories (Melodic Revolution Records) debut

LACUNA COIL: Zombies (Century Media) debut

BIGELF: Control Freak (Inside Out Music) debut

ANVIL: This Is 13 (VH-1 music)

*NEWS: These past few weeks have been extremely hectic on our old bones. We’ve been involved in 3 or 4 concerts every week. And that’s IN A ROW!! We’re no strangers to a hectic schedule. We’re known for being involved in 3 or 4 shows a week, but when they all fall in a row (and sometimes 2 in one night) it gets a little crazy. I’m starting to get flashbacks of my touring life in the 80’s and 90’s. Well, needless to say, we’re a bit worn out. Our schedule softens in a few weeks, but right now, it’s MADNESS!! Hey, guess what? A new edition od ROCK SOLID PRESSURE TV is about to be unleashed on the unsuspecting public (lol) That’s right. We were just informed that the new episode will be revealed this week. Hope you all will watch it. You can view every episode at our site We’re also going to be revamping the site a bit in the coming weeks. We’re currently on the hunt for some talented and ‘cool’ people that can help us out. We’ve helped so many people in bands, businesses, careers, etc. It’s rare that we ask for ‘any’ help. But if there is anybody out there that would like to join the Rock Solid Pressure team, hit us up at

The ‘Corrosion Of Covers 2014’ And Other Strange Tales

Hey Fiends,

Well, we unleashed our annual CORROSION OF COVERS Special last night. Thanks for tuning in! Our ratings went through the roof. The C.O.C. Special is basically well known bands that take a stab at a classic track. We all enjoy a kickass cover song on our favorite bands album right? I’m not talking about cover band fare. When we see a cover track on an album from a band we love. We ‘know’ they will make it their own. What we love even more is when they make it hardly recognizable. Of course we had a few of those last night. In fact, last night had this eerie, gothic type feel. We didn’t rip your head off like we usually do every year. It was more of a journey into the nether region. After doing this for 12 years, I feel it was our best one yet. The theme was dark throughout and certainly made this years C.O.C. a landmark in our broadcast history..It went down like this

OPETH: Bridge Of Sighs (By Robin Trower)

ICED EARTH: Highway Man (Originally penned by Jimmy Webb..Recorded by many bands)

MINISTRY: Roadhouse Blues (By The Doors)

ISAAK: Wrathchild (By Iron Maiden)

TYPE O NEGATIVE: Summer Breeze (By Seals & Crofts)

MEGADETH: Cold Sweat (By Thin Lizzy)

MONSTER MAGNET: Three King Fishers (By Donovan)

BLACKMORES NIGHT: Lady In Black (By Uriah Heep)

JUDAS PRIEST: Better By You, Better Than Me (By Spooky Tooth)

PARADISE LOST: Missing (By Everything But The Girl)

PANTERA: Planet Caravan (By Black Sabbath)

MICHAEL ANGELO BATIO: Cream Medley (By Eric Clapton)

*DIO DISCIPLES: We’re recovering from a three day weekend of huge concert events, so the dark, somber ride of CORROSION OF COVERS 2014 was the perfect remedy to soothe our souls. We have another 3 day weekend coming up (read below) but I just have to speak out on what an exciting weekend that just unfolded. On Friday we had the ‘amazing’ DIO DISCIPLES at State Theatre. At this point, this is easily our favorite show of the year so far. Not only did we get a chance to hang out with some of our favorite musicians of all time (all day long). But we were treated to such an epic set of amazing music that spanned Ronnie’s entire career..It literally blew everyone’s mind. It was also a very emotional set. I saw tears streaming down peoples faces..and we ‘never’ see that. Next week on The Rock Solid Pressure Show, we’ll be airing an emotional interview with guitar legend CRAIG GOLDY, and he’ll explain why the tears flow at every show. I am ‘sooo’ glad I fought hard to make this show happen. It brought joy to so many people in this area. I felt like I did a good deed. and my god, I want them back next year. Also have to thank the opening bands that made this event an epic feat of metal..ARCHANGEL, WAR OF THRONES, THE DOOD, FROSTFANG, VIRGIN DIRT, STEREO-TYPE

*THE WORLDS LARGEST FOOD TRUCK RALLY: On Sat and Sun, we put together the lineup of bands for this massive event which was held at The Florida Fairgrounds. The GUINNESS BOOK OF RECORDS was also on hand to present the award to the organizer JEREMY GOMEZ. And we were on stage when that happened (see the pics on our facebook pages). The Sat portion of the show got rained out. Seriously, it was like MUDSTOCK TWO (lol) But after the torrential rains stopped. The massive stage was dried and bands played until the law came and shut it down. The Sunday portion of the event saw thousands of people (32.000 to be exact) and it was a perfect day to rock out!! Huge thanks to all the bands that made this a weekend to remember..3D BURN, RED CALLING, JACKMANTRA, THE DEFIANT, BULLETS FIRST, THE LUVDOGZ, CARLISLE, VARIANCE, MARION CRANE, UNRB, VERTEBREAKER, RELENTLESS, RE-BIRTH..Also hope to do this again next year!!

Friday 4/4 : The Local 662:¬† SUNSHINE & BULLETS CD RELEASE SHOW: We’ve been waiting for this for months. One of the area’s top bands is celebrating their cd release, and of course, their signing to MELODIC REVOLUTION RECORDS. Also on the bill is ANYONE’S GUESS, YOSHI GISH, and the return of FROM THIS FIRE (Can’t wait). This show is going to be insane!! Hope to see all you locals in the house..Doors at 7pm. Get all the info at

Saturday 4/5 : The Coliseum: CERES, NINE MILE DRIVE, BEFORE THE FIRE, SAHE: This show is also going to be unbelievable, and we’re really looking forward to it. The Coliseum is a new venue dedicated entirely to Hard Rock & Metal, and the place is getting massive support. We wouldn’t have it any other way. Doors are at 7pm. Get all the info at

Sunday 4/6 : State Theatre: DEICIDE w/ PSYCHOTRIBE, ULCER, A LONG WAY FROM LIVING: Need I say more? We’re expecting a sold out crowd..We’ll all damn our souls to hell..together!! This is going to be awesome! Get all the info at

* NEXT WEEK ON THE ROCK SOLID PRESSURE SHOW: We’re introducing EPIC APRIL. All month long, the first 2 tracks will be ‘epic’ recordings. Total masterworx of music. An epic is usually 8min or longer (some are much longer) Tune in and see if we’ll play your favorites. Some are brand new, and some are classics. We’ll also be airing our exclusive interview with CRAIG GOLDY..Hope you can tune in
